At REMASTERED, we are mainly concerned with offering our visitors an unforgettable experience. However, we do not want to ignore our social responsibility. When devising the entire concept, our policy from the start was aimed at limiting our CO2 emissions as much as possible through measures in our business operations and to compensate for the remainder. There is much discussion about the way in which companies can compensate their CO2 emissions in an honest manner.

Our expected CO2 emissions have been mapped out in collaboration with greenleisure.nl and with the help of milieubarometer.nl. REMASTERED is expected to emit approximately 361 tonne of CO2. Because the electricity that is provided to us is 100% green (see: duurzaam010.nl) our footprint is reduced to about 65 tonne CO2 per year.

In our first year, we chose to have 181 trees planted through treesforall.nl, which compensated for 67 tons of CO2 (view certificate). This made us CO2 neutral right from the opening of REMASTERED.

Another way to contribute to the reduction of CO2 is by buying emission allowances. In particular, production companies with high CO2 emissions must buy emission allowances to compensate for their emissions. The idea behind this is that when the price of emission allowances rises, these companies have a stronger incentive to reduce CO2 emissions by adjusting their production processes.

As a service company, there is no obligation for us to buy emission allowances. However, we believe that by buying emission allowances we can make our modest contribution to driving up the price of emission allowances. In 2022, we purchased 67 tons of CO2 emission allowances through Carbon Killer (see our purchase certificate). We hope other service companies will follow our example.
